CRM software for a teacher (personal use, not school wide)

I have used salesforce alot in the past. I've been working as a teacher for several years and would love to have access to something like Salesforce to keep track of different things with my students. Do you have a recommendation for something free or very low cost that would be similar. I wish salesforce still had a low cost personal version but they don't, what else would be good. Mainly I would just like to log different issues and interactions, or keep track of different projects with certain groups of students etc. Would be nice if it could interact with some excel spreadsheets as well.
