In this week’s Dynamics GP blog roundup:

  • Microsoft Dynamics GP running at an appallingly slow speed
  • Who needs menus when you have the navigation pane?
  • ‘Received not invoiced’ report is not tying to the accrued purchases account on the general ledger trial balance
  • Error trying to combine sites in the PSTL tool: You cannot combine the sites as it is the same on a transfer record in the history table

Dynamics GP running at an appallingly slow speed

On his Azurecurve blog, Ian Grieve stated that he recently encountered an issue with the test system running remarkably slowly in many areas.

In his blog post, Grieve talked about which areas were running slowly, including logging in, opening the SmartList window, and posting a payables batch.

We installed a client directly onto the SQL Server for testing purposes and found that the speed was what we would expect to see, rather than the snails pace the users were seeing.

Finally, Grieve explained what his team did that caused the performance of GP to increase across the board.

Who needs menus when you have the navigation pane?
