With many businesses living in a multi-app world or migrating from an older business solution to the latest one, seamless integration and efficient data migration are paramount. For CRMPlus+, a Dutch-based consultancy and KingswaySoft Authorized Implementation Partner, overcoming integration challenges for their client, a fiber-optic service provider, was a top priority. With four intricate ETL projects on their plate, CRMPlus+ leveraged KingswaySoft’s SSIS Integration Toolkit to achieve remarkable results.

Some of the Challenges Our Software Has Overcome: Data Migration to Microsoft Dynamics 365

Project 1: Backup Dynamics 365 CDS/CRM Online to On-Premises CRM

After migrating from Dynamics CRM 2015 (On-Premises) to Dynamics 365 CDS/CRM Online, the client wanted a local backup of their data to ensure 100% uptime in case of service outages or planned downtime for their new cloud-based solution. However, this brought unique challenges, including handling many custom entities and retaining vital ModifiedBy and ModifiedOn information. Additionally, migrating closed records posed a hurdle due to Dynamics platform restrictions.

Project 2: Integration between 1 Dynamics 365 CDS/CRM and 3 Business Central Instances

The task involved splitting data from a single Dynamics 365 CDS/CRM Online environment into three Business Central instances and for two of those to synchronize invoices and purchase data back to CRM. Previous attempts with a different vendor proved complex, expensive to maintain, and time-consuming.

Project 3: Integration with Geo-Information System (Cocon)

Integrating fiber-optics connection data from an industry-specific geo-information system required handling complex XML messages. Inadequate documentation added to the challenge. This integration was critical to identify clients affected by fiber-optics outages and notify them promptly.

Project 4: Data Integration between Dynamics 365 CDS/CRM and HubSpot

The client needed to integrate HubSpot and Dynamics 365 CRM to facilitate information exchange between the customer engagement and marketing teams. However, the integration faced delays due to HubSpot’s record creation process and required meticulous synchronization of CRM Accounts and Contacts with HubSpot.

The KingswaySoft Solution

Leveraging KingswaySoft’s SSIS Integration Toolkit for Dynamics 365 Data Migrations

CRMPlus+ turned to KingswaySoft’s SSIS Integration Toolkit, a robust solution offering flexibility, ease-of-use, and cost-effectiveness. Utilizing the Ultimate Edition, CRMPlus+ streamlined the integration process, allowing developers to adapt and make changes effortlessly.

Project-specific Solutions

  1. Project 1: Utilizing the SSIS Integration Toolkit Ultimate Edition, which gave them every tool needed with just one license, CRMPlus+ helped their client achieve local data backup, ensuring business continuity despite any problems that could arise. The integration was implemented in a matter of weeks, rather than the months needed for their previous solution.
  2. Project 2: By employing the SSIS Integration Toolkit for Microsoft Dynamics 365 and SSIS Productivity Pack, CRMPlus+ successfully split data by filtering according to business unit and the “relationshipType” field. Furthermore, performance was optimized by using the Diff Detector component to write incrementally to the destination, depending on whether a record had indeed changed. This facilitated real-time integration between Business Central instances and Dynamics 365 CDS/CRM.
  3. Project 3: KingswaySoft’s XML Extract component, coupled with the CRM/CDS Destination component, enabled seamless integration with Cocon. It was no small task since XML data isn’t easily consumed by relational database tables. The flexibility of the XML Processing components empowered developers to handle complex XML messages efficiently.
  4. Project 4: With Premium Derived Column and Timer Task, CRMPlus+ efficiently synchronized CRM Accounts and Contacts with HubSpot, even overcoming the HubSpot ID delay by waiting 10 seconds to retrieve it, thus ensuring a coherent integration.

Achieving Remarkable Dynamics 365 Data Migration Results

  • Efficiency: The integration project, which initially took months with another vendor, was completed within 120 hours, enabling the client to focus on their core business activities.
  • Proactive Notifications: Integration with the geo-information system, which took a mere 95 hours to implement, allowed immediate customer notifications during fiber-optic cable disruptions, a significant milestone in the client’s “Pro-Active Maintenance Project.”
  • Seamless CRM-HubSpot Integration: CRMPlus+ achieved a smooth CRM-HubSpot integration in just 30 hours, streamlining processes and minimizing effort.

Collaborative Support from KingswaySoft
