Open Source Gift Card/Voucher Management Options – Creating a system to manage customer loyalty

Hey guys,

I've been working on a project focusing on building some customer loyalty tools.

The main tool I'd have to build for this person, is a Gift Card Management system, that would connect to a very sh*tty POS system. The POS doesnt have an API, and it sends its transactional data through SQL directly to NAV Dynamics.

My thoughts are to create an new path where there's an intermediary layer between the POS and NAV – with the explicit intent of managing Gift Cards.

Do you guys have any suggestion on how where I can start basing off – as all the alternatives ive researched have been strictly paid? Any open source, or github code that would be suggested in this case for building a gift card management system.
