CRM for business contacts with snail mailing capability

Hi, my Dad is transitioning out of his Act! Database and we exported contacts via a csv file.

He only needs contact lookups, and also likes to send birthday cards to clients (I think he prints the labels right from Act) and he does other snail-mailings with newsletters. That’s all he really wants.

I was originally looking at database software but someone told me I needed a crm instead.

Any suggestions for him? I wanted to find something free or low cost. Hopefully something that doesn’t require a hefty subscription. He only has 350-400ish clients. He’s in his late 70s and doesn’t necessarily adapt well so we need something light weight and easy to use. You can talk to us like we are 5.
