The crispness in the air, the clinking of glasses, the sounds of joy, and the smells of roasts are a sign that not only has the season changed but the year is changing soon and the celebrations are on the way. Happier times are ahead, and what better way to celebrate than with family, friends, music, dance, food, lights, and love?
Funnily, celebrations are also accompanied by a crack of something, viz, they go on till the crack of dawn, start with the cracking of champagne, and lead to the cracking of bones and joints the next day, but are incomplete without the cracking of firecrackers!
Firecrackers and fireworks displays are a part of several traditional celebrations across the globe. Be it in Argentina at midnight on Christmas Eve, in the USA on the 4th of July and the New Year, at the Burj Khalifa Light Show in Dubai, in India for the festival of lights- Diwali, in China for the Chinese New Year, the River Festival Day in Japan, and so on, firecracker shows and anticipated all year long!
