Transitioning from CRM Admin to more technical roles

I graduated college with a CS degree and have been working as a CRM Admin for close to a year. I enjoy the technical side of it more than anything and I am wondering what sort of career paths there are to transition into more technical fields. I'm thinking things along the lines of CRM developer. Is this something I could transition into and how easy would it be?
