( votes)The “Great Resignation” has had an impact on all industries. One sector that has suffered most greatly, is that of state and local governments. Deloitte explains in a recent article titled State governments and the coming talent shortage: Competing—successfully—for talent in the public sector, that government workforce management has become increasingly plagued by a continuous struggle to retain talented employees. This is largely due to the private sector, and its ability to provide better wages and benefits. The pandemic has only made matters worse. Many employees were inadvertently left behind due to illness, and others who became accustomed to remote work have simply refused to return. It all adds up to this…state and local government agencies are vastly understaffed. This doesn’t change the number of constituents that require their services…especially in these trying times.
Regardless of which level of government you find yourself in, many of them employ legacy HR systems that are quite clunky and cumbersome. Even with the “size” of these legacy systems, they still fail to cover all the bases. The biggest caveat with these legacy systems is that they are centrally managed. This removes the ability for employees in different departments to access the tools and data they need, when they need it. This bottleneck makes daily tasks like recruiting, skill matching, and task delegation a much more cumbersome process. All of these issues make it exceedingly difficult for government agencies to satisfy their requests.
HSO’s People Accelerator will fill the gaps in your legacy HR system
Recently, Jack Kelly, Director, Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform for State and Local Government, invited HSO, a Gold-certified Microsoft partner that has been helping state and local governments digitally transform for more than 25 years, To unveil HSO’s People Accelerator and explain how it can help with government workforce management.
HSO’s People Accelerator is a workforce platform that organizations within governments can employ to solve localized issues. For instance, People Accelerator enabled a smaller sized country to rejuvenate its infrastructure…basically, the entire HR department through the implementation of technology. Personnel management, recruiting, onboarding, and time keeping was all streamlined through the use of mobile apps and employee portals.
Built on the Microsoft Azure platform, People Accelerator is secured by Azure’s global servers, offering automatic backup and failover systems to prevent data loss in the event of a catastrophic event. Also included is a government cloud…subdivided storage space for government constituents, including additional security checks and additional certifications including CJIS, FedRAMP, DoD IL2 and IL5.
The People Accelerator also manipulates the capabilities of Microsoft’s Power Platform, Power BI, to compile data and generate reports, Power Apps to develop apps and automate processes using low-code tools, Power Automate to construct solutions that mesh with third party interfaces, and Power Virtual Agents to realize virtual chatbots.
