COVID-19 has changed the way businesses operate along with customers’ expectations and habits. With more and more sales transactions taking place online, organizations need to move fast and anticipate their customers’ needs to stay competitive. As such, the second 2021 release for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales focuses on four main areas to provide businesses with the tools they need to drive their sales and revenue:

  • Increased productivity and collaboration from anywhere;
  • Enhanced intelligence, productivity, and forecasting tools;
  • Improved guided selling with Sales Accelerator enhancements;
  • Better mobile experience for employees on the road.

Here are just a few of our favourite features from Dynamics 365 Sales 2021 Release Wave 2!

#1 Bulk actions for sales representatives

This feature helps sales representatives complete repetitive actions efficiently, allowing them to focus on high-value tasks instead. Actions that are performed multiple times a day, such as sending an email to prospects who registered to an event or opened a link, can be grouped together easily. Bulk actions can then be reviewed and modified as needed, and will be added to the timeline for enhanced visibility.

#2 Integration between Dynamics 365 and Teams meetings

The improved integration between Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Teams will let sales representatives create and join Microsoft Teams meetings directly from Dynamics 365. They will also be able to access sales records and take notes directly from the meeting. As a result, they will have more meaningful conversations with prospects and customers, thus driving sales and revenue.

#3 Advanced and critical business insights for customer interactions

Thanks to this feature, sales representatives can have access to business insights during searches, calls, and emails. These include KPI trends, an executive summary, automatic language switching during calls, view-as functionality, and the ability to show comments on the call timeline. This means less time spent entering data into the CRM, and increased productivity and efficiency thanks to improved access to data.

#4 Intelligent field augmentation to improve predictive scoring

The large quantity of information stored in the CRM can now be used to train an AI predictive scoring model. This feature lets administrators identify the fields that can be used to train the AI model and improve its efficacy. These “augmented fields” can include whether a customer is new or returning, whether an email is legitimate or fake, whether an email domain is private or public, and more.

#5 Easily find, interact, and create CRM information on mobile

Improvements made to the mobile version of Dynamics 365 will allow sales representatives to interact more easily with the CRM from the device of their choice. As such, they can interact with customers and prospects more easily by having access to relevant data easily and follow up as needed. Meetings and notification options have also been enhanced to facilitate their daily tasks.

Several new features are already available, but others will become available in the coming months with the roll-out of the Dynamics 365 Sales 2021 release wave 2. As always, Microsoft is committed to providing businesses with the tools they need to drive their sales and revenue, and we’re looking forward to seeing these features improving our clients’ sales performance.
