Microsoft announced that it will locate what it describes as a “sustainable datacenter region” in Denmark. Powered entirely by renewable energy, the datacenter is intended to provide Danish customers with fast access to Azure.

The announcement comes as part of DigitalLeapDenmark, an initiative to improve green investments in the country. Currently, Microsoft employs a thousand people in Denmark and recently invested in a quantum computing lab with Technical University of Denmark and University of Copenhagen.
