Looking for a new job is a job in itself.
It takes an incredible amount of time and effort. You spend hours and hours on research, making adjustments to your resume, tailoring cover letters, applications, and sending follow-ups after your interviews.
In order to stand out from the crowd and get a chance of an interview, the person in charge of reviewing the initial applications must feel like you’ve done your research and that you are motivated enough for the position you are applying for.
We’ve recently heard from several of our customers that they have successfully been using Nimble CRM for job search and want to share their experience with you.

Personalization and Research is Key to a Job Search Success
The better fit you are for the position you are applying for, the better your chances of getting an interview and getting hired are. It’s important to make sure that the company culture, location, and other important factors are something that would work for you; while doing all this research, you might find yourself spread across multiple different websites.
You might read what current and former employees say about the company on Glassdoor. You could be looking at the company LinkedIn page, and then looking at the LinkedIn profiles of people that are hiring for the position you are applying for.
Use the Nimble browser extension to create contact records for all these people, and fill out the contact records with all the information that might help you personalize your resume, cover letter, and outreach.
Let’s pretend that Simon is one of the people that will be making a decision in the hiring process. After reviewing his LinkedIn profile, you were able to discover that he has written several books. Add this information to Nimble and have it on file in case there’s an opportunity to mention it when speaking to him.
It’s also a good idea to connect with the people you are interviewing with on LinkedIn and reiterate your interest in the position. Sending the invite is another opportunity to show that you have done your research and are a good fit for the company.
Keep Track of Your Target Companies & Decision Makers

Never Forget to Follow-up
It’s very easy to forget to follow-up with somebody may it be to thank them for making an introduction to you and recommending you for a job or to thank them after you have been interviewed by them.
