( votes)When trying to build better relationships, it’s important to be able to easily locate things that have been quickly jotted down during conference calls or meetings. That’s why Nimble has made it easier than ever to locate notes associated with a given contact with our new Contact Notes search.
What’s New in the Contact Notes Search Feature
Notes are critical to closing deals and starting new business relationships. They allow you to keep track of where you left off in a conversation, promises that were made, and key details about the customer and what’s important to them.
With the new Contact Notes Search, you can search for notes related to your contacts for a quicker recollection of engagement history and deal-related activities.
Here are all of the filters you can use to search for notes:
Note Text
Search by the content of your notes (such as “interested in the product” or “reschedule meeting”) in order to quickly recall what you need, when you need it.
Created
Locate notes based on the date they were created to pull up meeting notes.
Updated
You can search by recently updated to keep up with the changes in your sales cycle.
Author
Find a note based on who created it to stay on the same page with everyone on your team.
Has notes
Want to see all of your contacts that have notes related to them? We have a filter for that too!
Build an Advanced Segment For Notes
To start, visit your Contacts tab and click within the search bar to launch our Segmentation feature.
A segment is a group of contacts defined by the filters you select. Use the “Add Filters” and “Grouping” functions to build smarter segments of your contacts. Contacts are automatically added to saved segments when they meet your criteria.
To search on notes, just click “Add Filter” and choose “Contact Note”. You’ll then be presented with the following search options:
- Notes – Note search based on keywords
- Note Created – when the note was created
- Note Updated – when the note was last updated
- Note Creator ID – who created the note
Now that you know how to search on the “Notes” field, you can now build smart segments that include other filters.
For example, you can pair a tagged group of contacts with a “Note Contains:” filter to locate all contacts that recently attended a conference.
Or add a filter by address with “Note Created” to find out who on your team is actively engaging with customers in a certain location.

To view the note after building your search, just click on the contact and underneath the Interactions tab, you or your team member’s created note will appear.
The ability to export notes is on our roadmap for 2020. Stay tuned for additional updates!
