( votes)Microsoft announced the release of its Azure IoT Connector FHIR in-preview. As a fully managed feature of the Azure API for FHIR, it is intended to help teams with ingestion, management and transformation of protected health information, with the goal of supporting Internet of Medical Things use cases.
Key features of the connector include real-time data processing, scalability, role-based access control, audit log tracking, compliance and conversion of biometric data into FHIR resources.
Partner organizations are already putting the new offering to use. Humana is deploying a remote monitoring solution for patients living with chronic conditions, while Sensoria Health’s Motus Smart takes a similar approach for diabetes and Centene processes biomedical data from wearables.
