Need a Recommendation for Community Centre Client Database

I'm assisting a local centre that helps; newcomers, refugees and survivors of domestic violence, get connected to support services and provide with some essential (food, clothes, etc) donations. Their current system is just an excel sheet, which is a mess and difficult to navigate/add additional notes as they communicate more with their clients. Is there a software system that could organize their intake information, (personal info, referrals, client stories) and have space to add additional notes?
