Which CRM is best for tracking categories of contacts?

I have 3 categories of contacts that I need to work with:

  1. Individual clients who have hired us.
  2. Are Small businesses who introduce us to their clients, who might hire us.
  3. Brokers who will introduce their clients to us.

I find that Salesforce is great if you want to optimize it for one specific client type, but unless we're doing something wrong, it's not convenient to have databases with different inputs for different client/prospect segements.

Is this something that a small company can easily accomplish with any of the existing solutions?

Someone said they used to use ACT! and it did that, but one of my marketing guys would prefer to use Hubspot or Salesforce if there's an easy way to accomplish this with either.
