SuiteCRM UI/UX Customization

I'm not a software person. I do real estate. I'm currently building a custom CRM in SuiteCRM using contractors. We're finishing up the architecture of the solution and I'd like to start working on the UI. I chose SuiteCRM because it's open source. I have no idea what I would be looking for as far as someone who could code an improved UI to suit my needs. I've looked at predefined responsive themes, but they're all kind of meh. Anyone have any suggestions?
