( votes)Here at Turnkey Technologies we are seeing Microsoft continually pushing out new content for Office 365 vs Microsoft 365, however, while most people are talking about these services interchangeably, they are different. This brings us to the question, Office 365 vs Microsoft 365: What’s the difference?
Office 365
Office 365 is all about business productivity. Offered through a subscription model, there are many cloud-based applications available to you including:
- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote
- Outlook
- Exchange
- OneDrive
- Microsoft Teams
- SharePoint
- Skype for Business
All of these are enabled to be accessed anywhere, as they are within the Azure cloud platform. As for subscription plans, there are three: Office 365 Business, Office 365 Business Essentials, and Office 365 Business Premium. For more information on these plans, check out our Microsoft Office page.
Microsoft 365
Instead of just applications, Microsoft 365 is a complete solution. Included in it’s bundle of services are:
- All of the Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Windows 10 OS
- Enterprise Mobility + Security (aka EMS)
With the simplicity of this bundle, it can be hard to see where Microsoft 365 outshines Office 365.
The differences start with device management. From the Microsoft 365 console, all of your users and devices can be managed. These apps and services become even more powerful when they are all connected. With reduced time being spent on administrative tasks, you can solely focus on putting forward your best work that drives business. Along with connectivity, these applications shine inside Microsoft’s most secure and up to date operating system–Windows 10. Enabled through the different M365 user bundles, it becomes easy to find the right OS license for your team. Wrapping up this complete solution, there is the added protection of having Enterprise Mobility + Security. Getting real-time control of all of your devices enables you to have the best choice to keep your corporate assets safe everywhere they go.
