The technology industry has been relentlessly adding tools and features to help us work, but sometimes the tools themselves can add another level of complexity. What we need is not more tools, just the right tools. And the right tools prove to be those that are targeted, streamlined, and easy to use.
How to simplify project management
Professional services organizations want to manage projects against a budget. That includes:
- identifying the project,
- acknowledging the budget for the whole project,
- outlining what steps must be taken to complete the project,
- assigning personnel to the project,
- recording how much was spent, and
- figuring how much was billed toward the budget.
Most companies aren’t focusing on resource distribution across a large enterprise. They don’t want complex resource allocation and assignments based on preset workgroups.
They want simple management for their less-complex projects.

A complex project management solution will likely deliver far more functionality than you will ever need.
Why invest in a solution just to use ten percent of its tools?
