Power Automate, formerly Microsoft Flow, makes workflow automation for Dynamics easy and efficient. A cloud solution with hooks to hundreds of platforms out of the box, it quickly grabs information from services, connectors and apps to speed up the time it takes to get things done.
Power Automate can bring value to your organization by:
- Automating business processes
- Sending automatic reminders for past due tasks
- Moving data between systems on a schedule
- Connecting to almost 300 data sources or any publicly available API
- Automating tasks on your local computer like computing data in Excel
Microsoft’s Robotic Process Automation (RPA) offering, Power Automate brings API and UI-based automation together in one nice little package. Shipping with most of Microsoft’s business management tools like Dynamics 365, the vision is clear. With Power Automate, Microsoft is giving end users the power to:
- Eliminate tedious tasks
- Increase productivity
- Simplify processes
This allows management to see results quicker, something every organization needs. And all the bases are covered with several different types of “flows” available – automated, instant, scheduled, business process and UI.

So that new RPA capability is a really transformative element — we’re expanding what can be automated with Power Automate.”
While it’s easy enough for end users to deploy, it’s also sophisticated enough to attract developers, too. Power Automate provides a Peek code feature that allows anyone to take a closer look at the code that’s produced for all actions in a flow. Peeking at the code gives you a clearer understanding of the data that’s being used by triggers and actions.
That’s a nice feature when an organization is looking to deploy Power Automate on a broad scale!
