Microsoft general manager Bill Karagounis announced the introduction of the Azure Modular Datacenter. Geared toward remote hybrid cloud scenarios, the offering complements the recent announcement of Azure Space. MDC units are already in service for some private sector and defense organizations, providing satellite networking capabilities.
Principal program manager Eustace Asanghanwa announced the general availability of the Edge Compute Node protection profile (ECN PP). The offering assists IoT developers with securing IoT devices. It defines measurable security goals with the goal of creating a modular protection profile.
