( votes)This Global Non-Profit and Their Remote Workforce Survived the COVID-19 Pandemic with the Azure Cloud for CRM
Any organization with a remote workforce requires continuity in communication and consistency in delivery of materials and resources needed to operate and sustain productivity. With the sudden outbreak of COVID-19, a global non-governmental organization (NGO) found themselves paralyzed. Unfortunately, their international humanitarian medical expertise in dealing with non-discriminating endemic diseases didn’t prepare them for COVID-19. Like many organizations, they needed to move to an entirely remote workforce very quickly.
Since most of their employees were already working remotely prior to COVID-19, the transition to a fully remote workforce wasn’t a huge undertaking. Thanks to AKA Enterprise Solutions and Microsoft Azure Cloud, the organization successfully transitioned from on-premise operations to a fully cloud-based infrastructure, enabling the organization to maintain communication and continuity of logistics for more than 35,000 professionals throughout their 70-country service area.
The critical challenge for this particular organization was finding a solution for the constant onboarding for new employees. Due to the unforeseen global pandemic, new employees needed access and connection using whatever devices they already possessed in order to get started with and continue their work. Without the ability to immediately equip new personnel with laptops and VPN capability, along with other key resources and tools, hiring ceased and would remain so until the situation was fully resolved with a new onboarding solution. There was no time to waste in delivering a solution for the preparation and secure connectivity of the constant flow of new employees.
Maintain and Empower Remote Work with Microsoft Azure Cloud
After a short discussion, AKA developed a new cloud solution enabling the organization to get back on track with hiring new employees in just a matter of a few days.
With Azure Cloud, new remote workers are able to use a current computer or other smart device to access essential and internal resources—even if they aren’t SaaS-enabled. Users have different levels of access, and depending on their access level, are able to use the portal to access various applications and resources. Further, AKA installed security protection to protect the organization against cyber-attacks.
Now, both old and new workers have global access to business applications and files from a web browser, laptop or tablet, including remote utilization of some obsolete or outdated applications when needed. In this case, speed mattered, and AKA’s Azure experts delivered.
The Right Technology—Intuitive and Supportive of Change
The new solution enables the organization to continue to scale, and it also enables the organization’s IT team to quickly increase their capacity with additional servers in just a few hours. As a result, 20 new hires joined forces, and there was no impact to the people in need they serve.
In today’s global economy, change is inevitable. The right CRM cloud solution and the right partner can make all the difference in your organization’s ability to survive and thrive in both challenging times and good times.
