Hi all,

Since I was last dealing around the fringes of CRM a decade or so ago a lot has changed. And now I'm stuck, not even knowing the lingo, and it seems like CRM has blurred the lines into other types of software and I could do with some help navigating it – looking for any advice!

In short:. I'm in a bespoke manufacturing business. Really small, me and a couple of guys on the shop floor plus one administrator. We deal a lot with entrepreneurs wanting to get into the field. So they think they know what to ask for, but don't.

I'm looking for a "CRM" that allows them to create a profile online, go through some documents, fill out bits online, we can then give them feedback on it (through the CRM), they make changes etc., can get a quote, place the order etc. I'd love it if they couldn't go to the next stage without us saying that what they've done is OK so far. Sanity checking it basically. For them and us 🤣.

They could have multiple SKUs, or have multiple quotes, and it would need to keep it together so they can login and see them.

We can then manage the customer through this system instead of email or phone as it gets super messy, they change email addresses a lot, or expect us to take responsibility for something because we told them that something might not work and 'x' might work better, but with no guarantees.

Yes, this shouldn't be necessary, but when you have dozens of people per month, and they, through no fault of their own, aren't clued up, then it solves a conflict problem later down the line.

Would love help here, even if it's just what search terms to use!

TIA!
