Dynamics GP: group VAT filing for multiple companies with VAT 100 return

Writing on Dynamics GP Support and Service Blog, Cheryl Waswick stated that companies can now submit the VAT tax return for multiple companies at once from the VAT Tax Return window thanks to a new functionality in the June 2021 release, which is available for GP 18.3.1290 and higher versions.

In her blog post, Waswick explained the changes included with Group VAT, such as a new checkbox for “Group VAT: has been added to the company set up window.” Waswick also offered a demo of the new functionality and included a Q&A section with more information about the new Group VAT functionality.

GP field-level security

On the Bond Consulting Services blog, Eduardo Haro wrote about the importance of protecting your critical corporate data from cybersecurity attacks and unauthorized users.

He noted that Dynamics products include many built-in levels of security, including identity permissions, encryption, authentication, and data loss prevention tools.

He then focused on the field-level security tool in Dynamics GP that restricts access to fields, windows, or forms by requiring a password.

Haro described the steps necessary to establish field-level security in their GP instances. He added that you need to be an administrator in the system to set up field-level security.

Slow login problems at one GP-reliant company

Writing on his AzureCurve blog, Ian Grieve stated that as he was working on a few projects for a client, he became aware that it was taking more than a minute to log into the client’s main company. However, he noted that it only took about 10 seconds to log into the client’s subsidiaries.
