Microsoft has launched its new West US 3 datacenter in Arizona. The new region is geared for sustainability with adiabatic cooling and solar power.

Microsoft has paired the new data center with sustainability investments in the region. The company has brokered partnerships with Colorado River Indian Tribes to maintain water levels in Lake Mead, as well as teaming up with other groups to restore groundwater and the Verde River. So far, major customers in the region like Banner Health, Teradata, and the State of Arizona are using the new datacenter. West US 3 offers Availability Zones and resource portability with Resource Mover.
