Does anyone use Salesforce? Is CRM enough for acting as a database?

We are a non-profit company (under 60employees) who are looking into Salesforce for new CRM at the moment. As data admin, we don't have any external database such as Azure or MySQL which I need to store complex data (but not super advanced) by writing SQL scripts.

I heard good things about Salesforce but i was wondering anyone use CRM as well for their cloud database and it works enough for them? Happy to hearing more reviews. Thanks
