Unification of Dynamics 365 apps still a challenge and a long-term priority, Microsoft GMs say

Microsoft is preparing to release the next edition of its lengthy release notes documents for Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform in early July. And, as has become customary in recent waves, the documents due next week are expected to contain detailed explanations of most of the planned improvements to business applications and services that will be delivered from October 2020 through March 2021.

But beyond that six month horizon, product leaders also revealed thinking about how the product lineup will address larger trends like AI, a consistent user experience, and the pressure to unify the underlying data entities and sources across the business applications group.

Speaking at Community Summit Europe today, a group of Microsoft product managers and executives discussed how they are approaching challenges like joint innovation and the future of the technology that will secure both Microsoft’s Dynamics 365 applications and their expanding plans for a full-scale development platform.
