A regional retailer of food, clothing, toys and more has hundreds of thousands of items and item variants, and processes millions of retail transactions. The company had outgrown the reporting and business intelligence tools within Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3.
The Columbus Global team built a data warehouse so that the retailer could access and analyze its data more easily. As a result, the retailer significantly improved ordering decisions and better used its inventory. In Phase II, the retailer automated the purchasing process and created several easy-to-use Power BI reports and dashboards for ongoing optimization in the organization.
- Cutting the product reordering process by at least half
- Hierarchical analysis that was not available with AX R3
- Daily processing of operational data, which was not possible due to time constraints in the old solution
- Improved decision-making around bulk deals
