User Group Summit North America kicks off next Tuesday, October 15, at the Gaylord Palms Resort in Kissimmee, Florida. This four-day conference, which will end on Friday, October 18, serves is an annual gathering for Microsoft Dynamics partners and users to learn and network.

As a Tier 1 Gold Microsoft Dynamics ERP Partner based in St. Louis, Turnkey Technologies, Inc. is a regular participant in the summit. CEO Chris Gherardini and Dynamics Reporting Specialist Sean Hunter will attend on this year’s summit, and Sean and lead three Dynamics GP breakout sessions.

1. The “Smarts” of Smartlist Designer | Thursday, October 17, 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. | Location: Daytona

Users attending this session will leave with the knowledge to create new SmartLists, including how to:

  • Create simple calculations
  • Join tables
  • Create filters
  • Create go to’s
  • Creating Excel versions
  • Import and export

Upon completion, participants will be able to:

  • Use Smartlist Designer to create new SmartLists from scratch and existing SmartLists.
  • Update and configure security.
  • Deploy SmartList as Excel refreshable reports.

2. Getting the Works out of PO Workflow | Thursday, October 17, 4:15 a.m. – 5:15 a.m. | Location: Emerald 8

In this course users will learn how to create a workflow for purchase orders in Dynamics GP. This will include guidance on how to:

  • Route and send documents for approvals.
  • Create tasks for users to complete.
  • Email notifications and approval links to users.
  • Add users to the workflow without requiring GP licenses.

Upon completion, participants will be able to:

  • Understand how workflows function.
  • Create and modify new and existing workflows.
  • Comprehend how the utilization of workflows can benefit their GP company.

3. Make GP Excel Reports Usable Again by Limiting Transaction Details | Friday, October 18, 2:30 a.m. – 3:30 a.m. | Location: Sun 3 & 4

In this course users will learn how to modify the existing Excel reports to return less data dynamically. When a company has large amounts of transactions or a significant amount of history, the Dynamics GP Excel reports can become unusable due to the sheer number of details returned. In this session users will learn how to add dynamic date parameters to ANY Excel refreshable report so that only a certain number of years, months, days, or any date range is returned without user interaction.

Upon completion, participants will be able to:

  • Navigate the data connections for an Excel report.
  • Modify existing data connections to limit data by adding dynamics parameters for date or field values.

Microsoft Dynamics GP Educational Series

In addition to participating in the User Group Summit, Turnkey provides monthly training for Microsoft Dynamics GP users. Our two previous sessions covered tips for reconciling balance sheet accounts and speeding up reporting with Management Reporter. Our next session will take place on October 23 from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. and will cover SmartList favorites in Excel. All of our educational sessions are free to both clients and non-clients alike!
